I instigated the Pemberton Community Barn building project with the village and was heavily involved in the construction process helping to coordinate the Timber Framers.
I have also volunteered with Pemberton Stewardship as well as AWARE in Whistler. I have volunteered with WMSC when my two kids were ski racing. My current passions are my two young grandchildren, qi gong, skiing, gardening and hiking.
I remain committed to advancing and supporting health care and education. Hopefully, my membership in PDHCF can contribute towards these goals.

Outside of her current work as a communications and engagement consultant, Melissa loves hanging out with her partner (a local business owner), teenagers and dogs, gardening, swimming in lakes, doing yoga, cross-country skiing, hiking, and dancing.
Melissa has served on the Board of Zero Ceiling and has volunteered for events like Pemberton’s Slow Food Cycle, PORCA and IRONMAN races, and the Whistler Waldorf School’s winter faire. She has fostered puppies, provided one-on-one reading support to grade 3 students, tutored immigrant ESL students, and facilitated swimming for children with developmental disabilities and seniors in long-term care.
Melissa has experienced serious illness, and along with her family, has benefited from the incredible care delivered by staff at Pemberton’s Health Centre. She joined the Pemberton & District Healthcare Foundation Board to help raise awareness about the foundation and fundraise for expanded medical facilities and equipment to serve Pemberton’s community as it grows.

Lisa's roots in the community run deep. She spent close to a decade as a member of the Women's Institute and served as a Rotarian for five years, continuing to support the club through the Chamber golf tournament. She gives back annually through a high school bursary, financial contributions to the Food Bank and Salvation Army, and ongoing support of Pearl, Pemberton's safe house for women and children.
Lisa joined the Pemberton Healthcare Foundation after coming to understand just how significant the need for local oncology outpatient treatment is in this community. She is committed to helping bring that care closer to home — because for the people of Pemberton, access to treatment shouldn't mean leaving the place they love.

Friends
“It takes a village to raise a child.” This phrase has never been so true as now. At the Foundation, our “friends” are the village helping to raise funds for expanded medical equipment and services in the Pemberton Region. We are so grateful. Our friends are finding creative and unique ways to raise money on our behalf. If you are interested in becoming a friend please contact us at admin@pembertonhealthcarefoundation.org
